With 17 years in the music industry, John Acquaviva has played for over 2 million people and has appeared at over 5000 gigs. Always at the vanguard of the DJ and club world, today he is hotter than ever. He is crafting new anthems for today's clubs and clubbers, and working with and introducing a new generation of DJs and artists on his own label Definitive Recordings, as well as other labels such as Blufin & Craft.
John has built a career around discovering artists and presenting new music to the world, starting with his labels launched in the 90’s with Richie Hawtin.
Instrumental and pioneered the role of combining traditional turntable DJing with the digital world, he helped to launch FinalScratch at the turn of the decade. Seeing the full potential of this vision since the very early days, John also became founded and launched Beatport.com, which has changed the way DJs and music fans buy and discover the music they love.
John is well known for his vast record collection of over 50,000 pieces of vinyl, spanning virtually the entire length of club music history. He's also rumored to have played through it as well.
Male Model Machine is Stephan Fisher and Alex DeGrace, both native to BC. The group was formed when the duo did a remix of DJ Timeline's "Lipstick", which sparked the desire to work on original productions as a team. Their sound is dubbed as bass-driven electro and techno, a style which has been influenced by artists such as Jesper Dahlback and Destillat, as well as the classic sounds of acid house and techno. As DJs their style is a full assault, an uncompromising barrage of hard basslines and beats that don't let up. This has given them a signature style many have come to know them for, both in their productions and on the decks.
