Intimate and Taal Productions once again bring you VanCity's most notorious and only three room long weekend event, the Canada Day edition of the Lotus Long Weekend.

The bar has been raised for this show as we are very pleased to announce our most respected and accomplished guest to date, Llorca (Brique Rouge, Paris). The man that many refer to as one of the most influential figures in electronic music for the past decade will be in the house for what promises to be a truly memorable night.

Llorca began producing and playing house music in earnest circa 1991 after meeting David Duriez with whom he would later found the now legendary underground house label Brique Rouge. Many will remember him for his groundbreaking full length album "Newcomer", released in 2001 on the distinguished French imprint F-Communications, which many consider to be a reference point for all things house in the new millenium. Having sold over 170,000 units worldwide this album solidified Llorca's reputation as one of house music's most well respected and prolific producers.

Having worked on countless singles and remixes, most notably his rework of AlexKid's "Come With Me" in 2003 which slammed peak-time dancefloors for over a year, Llorca has continually produced the finest in house sounds. With releases on Chez, 20/20 Vision, and his own label Brique Rouge, Llorca keeps dancefloors moving and DJs digging.

Llorca just completed a mixed (DJ) compilation "My Playlist", which has been released by the Wagram Music label, that gives the listener a small taste of what to expect from the man live. Currently Llorca is working on his much anticipated second full length album which many have waited for with baited breath since the sublime brilliance of "Newcomer".

Starting things up for Llorca will be none other than Tom Thomas and Nigel Ray.

Meantime, in the Lick Lounge, something special, Male Model Machine, fFormula, LWSD, and Josh Hall are all part of NYC's Black Van Label. For the first time ever these masters will all be in the same night club on the same night! Gonna be a real treat.

In the Honey Lounge we have local turntablist heroes Wood n Soo with Abasi & Glyn opening - music: whateverthef@#kgoes!
